Hyperbaric Environments

Two Hyperbaric Environments

Each environment serves a different therapeutic purpose, selected based on the individual patient’s physiology, tolerance, and clinical goals.

Our Hyperbaric Therapy Services

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is delivered in a pressurized chamber where the body can absorb oxygen more efficiently than it can at normal atmospheric pressure. At Regenesis, we offer two types of hyperbaric environments. In both environments, patients breath 100% oxygen from a mask or hood system while the chamber is pressurized.  Each serves a slightly different therapeutic purpose, and the appropriate environment is selected based on the individual patient’s physiology, tolerance, and clinical goals. At Regenesis, the goal is not to simply use the highest pressure possible. Instead, care is guided by a principle of individualized tolerance and therapeutic need.

The most important thing to understand is that both environments are used thoughtfully and safely, and the choice is guided by your care team.

Factors that influence chamber selection include:

Some patients begin in a mild environment and later transition to higher therapeutic pressures if appropriate. Others benefit from remaining in a mild environment for their course of care.

Treatment Options

Soft Chamber Therapy

FDA approved chamber

1.3 – 1.5 ATA Pressure

Atmospheric Absolute pressure range

Helpful for individuals who are:

Soft chamber sessions are delivered in an FDA approved chamber which can provide both 1.3 and 1.5 ATA pressures.

Hard Chamber Therapy

FDA approved chamber

Up to 2.2 ATA Pressure

Atmospheric Absolute pressure range

Used when:

Hard chamber sessions are delivered in an FDA approved chamber capable of pressures up to 2.2 ATA. This chamber is used when higher pressures are necessary to provide deeper physiologic effects than mild hyperbaric environments.

Regenesis delivers a thoughtful, individualized approach. Hyperbaric therapy works best when it is delivered with attention to the body’s ability to adapt. For this reason, treatment plans may involve gradual pressure progression, careful monitoring, and adjustments based on how each individual responds.

This approach allows hyperbaric therapy to support recovery while maintaining a high level of comfort and safety.
